Pip Talk is a practice app for conversations. This page says what we collect, why, and how to remove it.
What we collect
Your practice text. When you practice, what you type or say is sent to our server and to an AI provider (OpenAI) so the character can reply and so you get a debrief. We do not store the text on our server after the reply. Your history stays on your device.
Coach chat and screenshots. Messages you send to the coach, and any screenshot you choose to rate, go to our server and to OpenAI to produce an answer. They are not stored. A screenshot may show other people's messages: hide names first if you like, and only share chats you are comfortable sharing.
Voice, if you use it (Pro). Your recording is sent for transcription, then discarded. We keep the words, not the audio.
A random account id. The app creates an anonymous id so we can count daily practice and recognise your subscription. No name or email is needed.
Usage events, only if you agree. Screens opened, sessions finished, whether you saw the paywall. Used to fix the app. You can turn this off in Settings at any time.
Purchase status. Apple handles payment. We receive only whether a subscription is active.
What we do not do
We do not sell your data or use it for ads.
We do not use your practice text to train models.
We do not read your device contacts, photos or location.
Who processes data
OpenAI (replies, debriefs, transcription), Supabase (account id), RevenueCat (subscription status), PostHog (usage events, if you agree). Each receives only what its job needs.
Your choices
Delete everything: Settings, then Delete my data. This removes your account id from our server and clears the app.
Turn off usage events: Settings.
Questions or requests: support@rideaustudio.ca.
Safety
If you write about harming yourself or someone hurting you, the app stops the exercise and shows help lines. That check runs on our server and the text is not kept.
Children
Pip Talk is for people 13 and older.
Changes
If this changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app.
